For Mendocino County high school students planning to attend the Explorer Academy, EMT or paramedic training, Fire Academy, or a bachelor's degree in Fire Science; active Mendocino County fire department employees and volunteers may also apply. Requires a weighted 2.5 GPA, financial need, intent to pursue a paid or volunteer EMT, paramedic or firefighting career, a history of community service, and a recommendation letter from someone in the EMS field.
