Privacy Policy

Overview

FundMyFuture ("we," "us," or "our") is a scholarship discovery and tracking platform for high school students. We take your privacy seriously — especially because many of our users are minors. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

What information we collect

When you create an account: email address, name, grade level, state, academic interests, GPA, and SAT/ACT scores (if you choose to enter them). We also collect your county for local scholarship matching.

When you use the platform: scholarships you save, track, or mark as applied; notes and tracking statuses you record; and limited usage data (which filters you use, pages visited) to improve the platform.

Payment: if you subscribe, we collect payment through Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

How we use it

We use your profile information solely to match you with relevant scholarships and personalize your experience on the platform. Your email is used only for account-related communications (login, password resets, service updates).

We do not sell, share, or rent your personal information to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing by third parties.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers necessary to operate the platform: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Vercel (hosting), Resend (transactional email delivery), and Anthropic (which powers our in-app support assistant). Each provider is contractually required to protect your data and may only use it to provide their service to us.

We do not sell or share your personal information with data brokers, advertisers, or scholarship sponsors.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Sensitive personal information

Some information we collect may be considered sensitive under applicable law, including: Heritage/Diversity and Faith-Based scholarship interest tags; GPA and standardized test scores; and your account password (which we never read).

We use sensitive information only to provide core scholarship matching functionality. We do not use it for analytics, marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the service. You may limit this use at any time on our Limit Sensitive Information page.

How long we keep it

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

How we protect it

Your data is stored on Supabase, a SOC 2 Type II compliant platform. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We enforce access controls so that you can only access your own data through the platform.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party analytics tools that share your data with advertisers.

Your rights

You can access and update your personal information from your Profile at any time. To request a copy of your data or deletion of your account, email info@fundmyfuture.us and we will process your request within 30 days.

California residents have additional rights under CCPA/CPRA — see our California Privacy Notice. You may also submit a Do Not Sell or Share request or limit use of your sensitive personal information using the links below.

Children and minors

FundMyFuture is designed for high school students in grades 9–12 (typically ages 13–18). We comply with COPPA and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not create an account.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
