Eligibility & requirements

Must be enrolled in apprenticeship training program approved by Illinois Department of Employment Security or U.S. Department of Labor, not be recipient of other scholarship or fee waiver, be younger than age 26 before enrolling, and be youth for whom the department has court-ordered legal responsibility, aged out of care at age 18+, or formerly under care who were adopted with adoption assistance agreement or placed in private guardianship with subsidized guardianship agreement.
