Eligibility & requirements
The scholarship is given in memory of Clarence B. Sharp, former mayor of Groton, he was responsible for much of the development of the Thames River harbor at New London and Groton, including construction of piers at the Submarine Base, the Naval Underwater Systems Center and the General Dynamics‐Electric Boat Division, a submarine and shipbuilding yard. The scholarship provides support for students graduating from high schools in any of the towns served by the Community Foundation attending a four year progam at the University of Connecticut – College of Agriculture, Health & Natural Resources
